Education Policy

In 2005 business leaders created a call to action in the Tapping America’s Potential report: Increase the number of science, technology, engineering, and math grades by 2015. EMC and its’ leadership have answered the call and continue to strive at local and national levels.

EMC has played a large role in national and local organizations as champions for increasing the number of children pursuing math, science, and technology careers. On February 9, 2005, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Joe Tucci hosted a public forum with US Education Secretary Margaret Spellings and Senator Edward M. Kennedy addressing the landmark No Child Left Behind Act education reform law.

EMC Makes the Case for Education Reform

A number of EMC executives advocate for excellence in educational policy, including our CEO Joe Tucci, who chairs a task force with the goal of doubling the number of math and science graduates by 2015.

Governor Patrick's Readiness Project

In a statewide initiative co-chaired by Governor Deval Patrick and Joe Tucci, educators and business/community leaders will develop a 10-year strategic plan for education in Massachusetts.
